The Nike Pegasus Trail 5 trail running shoe is equipped with a ReactX foam midsole for extra cushioning and an ultra-responsive feel. The upper is breathable engineered mesh, with tighter woven fabric in high-wear areas, like the toes. Flywire technology integrates with the lace-up closure to help secure the midfoot. The outsole provides all-direction traction. Less rubber along the outsole compared to the previous iteration creates a smooth transition from road to trail while preserving the full-length ReactX midsole. A generative traction pattern combined with rubber in the forefoot provides extra grip for technical trails while maintaining a smooth ride for the road. The shoe weighs approximately 243 g/8.5 oz (US 8). It has a 9.5 mm heel-to-toe drop. These are athletic sneakers.
